This Thursday, we're looking forward to attending a new conference on behavioural science, hosting some of the most recognised and respected academics and practitioners in the world.
Run by the Behavioural Science and Policy Association (BSPA)* and organised by Katy Milkman, the conference will take place in New York and will feature speakers including Cass Sunstein, Richard Thaler, Sendhil Mullainathan, Dean Karlan, Maya Shankar, Max Bazerman, Elke Weber, Adam Grant, Kevin Volpp, Todd Rogers and many more.
The packed 10-hour day features a series of 'lightning talks' which focus on several sectors of research, including:
- Financial decision making: decision-making and cognitive ageing, identity in charitable giving, behavioural insights into saving, spending and debt.
- Energy & Environment: driving pro-environmental choice, nudging energy reduction in the household using bills, harnessing reciprocity for public goods.
- Health: health plan choice and insurance, vaccination defaults, immunisation mandates as a nudge.
- Management, Technology and Innovation: managing and producing star performers in 21st century organisations, gender differences in task allocation, do people anticipate loss aversion, using loss contracts as a commitment device.
The day will also feature:
- a talk from Cass Sunstein on using behavioural science in the US government;
- Richard Thaler in conversation with David Brooks;
- panel sessions looking at recent developments in the field; and
- What's in store for the future?
Details of the keynote speakers are below. We can't wait!
