Applying Behavioural Science principles to communication development and optimisation ensures comms are fine-tuned to maximise desired impact.

We can support you with the following:

1.

Comms Strategy Development

By understanding deeper, more subconscious triggers and barriers to behaviour, you can create a communication strategy that addresses what really matters to people and helps to encourage desired behavioural outcomes. For example, if research shows that people are apathetic about an issue or behaviour because it feels too complex, your comms can focus on making it feel simple and easy.

2.

Creative Development & Testing

We can help you test and optimise creative work for maximum effectiveness. BeSci concepts and frameworks inform how we design the research, the questions we ask and how we analyse responses. We also think carefully about how creative is presented to take into account:

  • Consumer and researcher context.
  • Capture of ‘System One’ fast, intuitive thinking AND ‘System 2’ rational, considered responses.
  • Chunking content for cognitive ease
  • Potential priming effects, especially avoiding inadvertent primes.
3.

Optimising Message Framing

The way a message is presented can be more important than the content itself. Behavioural science provides tools to help us frame messages to confront unhelpful biases or dial up others in a way to drive the desired end result. Who would have thought that the way to get people in Sydney to plant more trees was not to mention trees?! Read more about this award-winning work here
